Our non-medical home care services are available for seniors who need assistance with activities of daily living while staying in the comfort of their own homes. We also provide assistance for people recovering from illness, surgery, or hospitalization.
What services does Tender Mercies offer?
Our caregivers will assist you, or a loved one, with non-medical home care services such as companionship, hygiene assistance, personal care, or physical assistance. We can also run errands and provide transportation and meal preparation.
Where and when are services provided?
We will come to you when you need us. We can provide non-medical home care assistance at your residence, an assisted living center, or a nursing home, where you might need more one-on-one attention.
What are the rates of service?
Most of the time, we bill by the hour. This makes it easy to develop a custom tailored service plan for you. A Tender Mercies representative will visit with you personally and give you a no cost, no obligation needs assessment, including billing rates.
Do I have the option of changing or stopping services or hours?
At Tender Mercies we understand that situations can change quickly. We strive to be flexible with our services. You can change the number of hours or type of service we provide anytime necessary. In addition, our service plans do not require you to sign a contract so you can discontinue your relationship with Tender Mercies at any time.
Does insurance cover the cost of my services?
Some long- term care insurance policies may pay for services. The VA offers veteran's the Aid and Attendance Benefit which is paid to qualified Veterans and surviving spouses who require home care services.
Is Tender Mercies licensed by the State?
Yes, Tender Mercies is licensed to provide non-medical home care services by the State of Texas in the following counties: Bell, Burnet, Coryell, Falls, Lampasas, McLennan, Milam, and Williamson.
How can I be sure my caregiver is qualified?
Our caregivers go through an extensive pre-employment screening process. We perform interviews, background checks, and other screenings before they are considered for employment. In addition, they also must demonstrate compassion and dependability as well as exhibit a true desire to help people.
Can I choose who comes into my home?
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage your feedback where your caregiver is concerned. We want to make sure we’ve matched the best possible candidates for your needs. Your satisfaction and comfort is our priority. Our goal is for your caregiver to exceed your expectations. If you desire a change in caregivers, we will accommodate your request.
Will I have the same caregiver all the time?
We believe that the client/caregiver relationship is very important. Keep in mind that our caregivers will have days off, vacations and other situations that require time off. As such, we will work early on to identify a team of qualified caregivers matched to your needs so that we maintain continuity in care as much as possible. Your complete satisfaction is our top priority and we'll do what it takes to achieve this goal.
Are caregivers available on nights and weekends?
Tender Mercies caregivers are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, all year long.
What if I need help with injections?
Tender Mercies caregivers do not provide medical services. They can remind you to take your medications and when to do your therapy exercises, but they are unable to provide medical treatment or assistance.
